2012-2018, collaboration with Glenn Albrecht (philosopher who coined the term Solastalgia)

‘Solastalgia’ is a series of paintings exploring the concept of Solastalgia – a term that describes the feeling of loss of place due to climate change and development. These pieces are a series of landscapes from the artist’s own past that are now memories, existing in this new redefined form.

This series is part of an ongoing study to research new imagery in context to new vocabulary that is needed as we move into this new era of drastic environmental and social change. Further collaboration on this subject was with Matthew Schneider-Mayerson and Brent Ryan Bellamy on the book Ecotopian Lexicon.
